Public Education and PR

My name is Lindsay Kuntzman and I am a first-year master’s student in the public relations program at Kent State University. In 2006 I graduated from Kent with a bachelor’s degree in psychology. During my undergraduate career I took several classes in public relations and developed an interest in the field. Although I originally considered pursuing a master’s in psychology, my interest in PR won out and I returned to Kent in the summer of 2007.

In addition to attending graduate school to help me “break into” the field of PR, I also chose to pursue my MA because my family values education. My mom has worked as a public school teacher for over 30 years, my sister is the education coordinator at a museum, and my dad was an active school board member for years. Conversations revolving around education have been occurring at our dinner table for as long as I can remember.

In addition to being a full-time student, I also work as an assistant to two professors on campus. They keep me busy with research, grading papers, and planning special events. When I do have some time to myself, I relax with my cat, Zane, and give in to my guilty pleasure – watching soap operas.
